Classes
- CfConventionsException
Thrown when a NetCDF file can be read but doesn't follow the CF conventions this library needs: no latitude, longitude or time coordinate it can recognise, time units or a calendar it can't decode, or no variable with a standard name in the weather parameter table. The message lists what the file holds.
- CfTimeUnits
CF time units: a unit and a reference time, for example
"hours since 2026-10-25 00:00:00"(CF Conventions ยง4.4, "Time Coordinate"). Converts a coordinate value to a UTC time.
- NetCdfAttribute
A NetCDF attribute: text, or one or more numbers. Global attributes belong to the file; variable attributes to a variable.
- NetCdfDimension
A NetCDF dimension: a name and a length.
- NetCdfFile
An open NetCDF file: its dimensions, variables and global attributes, and reads of a variable's raw values. NetCDF-3 (classic and 64-bit offset) is read by a small managed reader written from the Unidata NetCDF classic format specification; NetCDF-4 is read through PureHDF.
- NetCdfFormatException
Thrown when a file isn't a NetCDF file this library can read: a damaged header, an unsupported format variant (CDF-5, NetCDF-4 groups), or an HDF5 compression filter other than deflate and shuffle. The message says why.
- NetCdfIgnoredVariable
A data variable of a NetCDF file that isn't on the weather grid, so it isn't in the WeatherGridSet at all, with why: for example a variable with several depth levels, or one along other dimensions. Hosts list these in
infooutput.
- NetCdfVariable
A NetCDF variable: a name, a type, the dimensions it's laid out along (slowest first) and its attributes.
- NetCdfWeatherDataset
A NetCDF-CF wind and wave file read into a WeatherGridSet: the grid, the parameters the weather table knows (and the ones it doesn't), their time steps, and where the data comes from. Time steps are read from the file only when they're decoded, so the dataset keeps the file open until it's disposed.
Enums
- NetCdfDataType
The type of a NetCDF variable's or attribute's values.
- NetCdfFormat
The on-disk format of a NetCDF file.
