Classes

CurrentArrowStyle

Surface current arrows (issue #1228): one arrow per grid cell, pointing the way the water flows, coloured and sized by the speed in S-111's nine speed bands. On by default.

CurrentComponents

Current speed and direction from the eastward (U) and northward (V) components of the sea water velocity.

PressureIsobarStyle

Mean sea level pressure (pressure.msl) as isobars every IntervalHectopascals hPa, labelled in hectopascals (e.g. 1012). On by default (wherever the data has pressure).

SeaTemperatureIsothermStyle

The sea surface temperature (sea.temperature) as isotherms every IntervalCelsius °C, labelled in degrees Celsius (e.g. 18°). Off by default: the fill already shows the temperature, and the lines are for reading a front's exact position.

SeaTemperatureStyle

The sea surface temperature (sea.temperature) as a colour fill in 1 °C bands from 0 °C to 30 °C, with a band below and a band above. On by default.

UnsupportedWeatherGridException

Thrown when a weather grid can't be represented in the model: for example a regional grid that crosses the antimeridian, or one whose geometry is invalid. The message says why, in words a user can act on.

WaveDirectionStyle

Wave direction arrows: one arrow symbol (ArrowSymbol) pointing the way the waves travel, sized by the significant wave height (wave.hs). Off by default.

WaveHeightStyle

The significant wave height (wave.hs) as a colour fill in 15 bands, the Douglas sea-state boundaries made finer. On by default.

WeatherCoverageSource

Serves one parameter group of a WeatherGridSet (for example the 10 m wind, or the combined sea state) to the coverage pipeline.

WeatherCoverageStyle

How a weather layer is drawn from a WeatherCoverageSource: a colour fill (Fill), oriented symbols (Symbols) or labelled isolines (Isolines), with its S-98 display plane, its priority within the plane, its opacity and whether it is shown by default.

WeatherGrid

A normalised regular latitude/longitude grid (EPSG:4326) in the order GridMetadata expects: the origin is the south-west point, rows run north and columns run east, and every longitude is in −180 to 180. Point (row, col) is at (OriginLatitude + row × SpacingLatitudinal, OriginLongitude + col × SpacingLongitudinal).

WeatherGridLayout

How a file's grid (WeatherNativeGrid) maps onto the normalised WeatherGrid, and the code that reorders a decoded step to match (design note weather-sources.md §3.4).

WeatherGridSet

The in-memory model every weather reader produces (design note weather-sources.md §3.4): where the data comes from, one regular latitude/longitude grid, and the parameters on it, each with its time steps. Everything after the reader (normalisation, drawing, sampling and picking) works on this model.

WeatherLevel

The vertical level of a weather parameter, for example 10 m above the ground for wind, or mean sea level for pressure.

WeatherNativeGrid

A regular latitude/longitude grid as the file stores it, before normalisation: point (row, col) of a decoded step is at latitude FirstLatitude + row × LatitudeIncrement and longitude FirstLongitude + col × LongitudeIncrement, and the values are row-major (row × Columns + col).

WeatherOrigin

Where a weather grid set comes from: the model or centre that produced it and the model run's reference time.

WeatherPalette

The colours of the weather styles: the band fills of WaveHeightStyle, WindSpeedStyle and SeaTemperatureStyle, and the inks of the wind barbs, wave arrows, pressure isobars and isotherms, each with a Day, Dusk and Night value.

WeatherParameter

One variable at one level of a WeatherGridSet, with its time steps: for example the U component of the wind at 10 m.

WeatherParameterDefinition

One row of the canonical weather parameter table (design note weather-sources.md §3.5): a canonical id, its stored unit, and the GRIB2 codes and CF standard names readers map to it. The rows are listed in All.

WeatherParameters

The canonical weather parameter table (design note weather-sources.md §3.5). GRIB2 and NetCDF-CF readers map their own codes to these ids; anything else is an unknown parameter, listed but not drawn.

WeatherPortrayal

Builds the renderer-neutral portrayal of a WeatherCoverageSource: one coverage sub-layer per WeatherCoverageStyle, carrying the style's S-98 plane, priority and opacity, ready for the Mapsui renderer or the headless compositor.

WeatherTimeStep

One time step of a weather parameter: its valid time and a callback that decodes its values when they're needed.

WeatherUnits

Labels for WeatherUnit values, in the wording that Units uses for the S-100 coverage products ("metres", "degrees").

WindBarbStyle

WMO wind barbs from the 10 m wind speed (wind.speed) and the direction it blows from (wind.from_direction): one symbol per 5 kn band from 5 to 200 kn, and a calm circle below 2.5 kn. On by default.

WindBarbSymbols

Picks the wind barb symbol for a speed at a position: the barb for the speed (FromKnots(double)), from the southern-hemisphere set south of the equator and the northern set elsewhere. The symbols are served by Symbols.

WindComponents

Wind speed and direction from the eastward (U) and northward (V) wind components (design note weather-sources.md §3.5).

WindSpeedStyle

The 10 m wind speed (wind.speed) as a colour fill in Beaufort bands, force 0 to 12. Off by default: the barbs already carry the speed.

Structs

GribParameterCode

A GRIB2 parameter identity: the discipline (Section 0, code table 0.0), the parameter category (code table 4.1) and the parameter number (code table 4.2) of a product definition template.

WeatherBand

One colour band of a weather fill: a value range in the field's stored unit, the palette token of its colour and a legend label.

WindBarb

The feathers of a WMO wind barb for one speed: pennants (50 kn), full barbs (10 kn) and half barbs (5 kn), with the speed rounded to the nearest 5 kn.

Enums

WeatherLayerKind

How a WeatherCoverageStyle draws its layer.

WeatherLevelKind

The kind of vertical level a weather parameter is given at.

WeatherUnit

The unit a weather parameter's values are stored in (design note weather-sources.md §3.5). Readers convert to this unit when they decode a step, so every grid of one canonical parameter shares it.

Delegates

WeatherStepDecoder

Decodes one time step of one parameter from the file: a GRIB2 message's data section, or one time slice of a NetCDF variable.
