Coverage variants carry a live handle (the ICoverageSource or its concrete equivalent). Tool implementations must treat the handle as best-effort: it may be disposed between catalog capture and the actual sample call. Wrap reads in try / catch (ObjectDisposedException) and surface the failure as DatasetClosedDuringQuery.

The coverage variants implement ICoverageSampler, the same sampling their processors offer, which is how the sample_coverage tools read them. A product with no variant of its own reaches the catalog as a ProductDatasetData that also implements ICoverageSampler.

Finds the places in this dataset that can answer a sample at the query's point: the grid node nearest to it, or every station of a station-series dataset (the nearest across datasets is chosen later).

The point to sample, with the transforms that reproject it into the dataset's CRS.

Returns

CoverageSiteSearch

The sites, or an empty search when the dataset does not cover the point. Implementations may throw ObjectDisposedException when the dataset was closed during the call.
