Class FeatureType
A feature type from the Feature Catalogue: a class of real-world phenomenon (e.g. a depth
area or a light) whose instances are normally located by geometry (see
PermittedPrimitives), parsed from
S100_FC_FeatureTypes/S100_FC_FeatureType. It binds attributes via
AttributeBindings and relates to other types via FeatureBindings
and InformationBindings. Compare InformationType, which has no
geometry.

Properties
Alias
Alternative name (alias), typically the legacy S-57 acronym; null when absent.
public string? Alias { get; init; }
Property Value
AttributeBindings
Attributes declared directly on this feature type (attributeBinding), in catalogue
order; bindings inherited from SuperType are not merged in.
public IReadOnlyList<AttributeBinding> AttributeBindings { get; init; }
Property Value
Code
Code that identifies the feature type in the catalogue and in datasets (code), e.g.
"DepthArea"; the key other catalogue entries use to reference it.
public required string Code { get; init; }
Property Value
Definition
Prose definition of the feature type (definition), or null when the catalogue omits it.
public string? Definition { get; init; }
Property Value
FeatureBindings
Feature associations this feature type may take part in (featureBinding), in catalogue order.
public IReadOnlyList<FeatureBinding> FeatureBindings { get; init; }
Property Value
FeatureUseType
Category of use (featureUseType), e.g. "geographic", "meta",
"cartographic" or "theme"; null when absent.
public string? FeatureUseType { get; init; }
Property Value
InformationBindings
Information associations this feature type may take part in (informationBinding), in catalogue order.
public IReadOnlyList<InformationBinding> InformationBindings { get; init; }
Property Value
IsAbstract
true when the element's isAbstract XML attribute is "true";
abstract types serve only as a superType for others and have no instances.
public bool IsAbstract { get; init; }
Property Value
Name
Human-readable name of the feature type (name), e.g. "Depth Area".
public required string Name { get; init; }
Property Value
PermittedPrimitives
Spatial primitives instances may use (permittedPrimitives), e.g. "point",
"curve", "surface" or "noGeometry". Empty when none are declared.
public IReadOnlyList<string> PermittedPrimitives { get; init; }
Property Value
Remarks
Additional explanatory remarks (remarks), or null when absent.
public string? Remarks { get; init; }
Property Value
SuperType
The code of the super type, if any.
public string? SuperType { get; init; }
