The identification section (Section 1) of a GRIB2 message: who made it, with which tables, and its reference time.

Parameters

Centre ushort

The originating centre (common code table C-11), for example 7 for NCEP or 98 for ECMWF.

SubCentre ushort

The originating sub-centre, defined by the centre.

MasterTablesVersion byte

The GRIB master tables version (code table 1.0).

LocalTablesVersion byte

The local tables version (code table 1.1); 0 when local tables aren't used.

ReferenceTimeSignificance byte

What the reference time means (code table 1.2): 0 analysis, 1 start of forecast, 2 verifying time of forecast, 3 observation time.

ReferenceTime DateTime

The reference time, in UTC: for a forecast, the model run time.

ProductionStatus byte

The production status (code table 1.3), for example 0 operational.

DataType byte

The type of processed data (code table 1.4), for example 1 forecast products.
